Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Eight
Hello friends!
And the weeks keep rolling past. Can anyone else believe it’s almost October?!
Thanks for all of the birthday love last week. Forty-three feels surprisingly similar to 42, but I feel like a certain amount of wisdom must be on its way once I hit my mid-forties. Let’s go!
So, last week’s video was the lowest-rated of the year so far at a subscriber score of just 59.2% (and the second-lowest rated in the history of our tracking subscriber feedback).
When that happens, I like to ask a very important question. Why?
Did its focus on drama not feel relevant for most of you? Not a fan of celebs in these videos? Let me know your thoughts. I honestly covet your candid feedback. Just hit “reply” and let me have it!
By the way, we’ve been getting more and more votes each week. That is super helpful for everyone. Thank you SO much.
I hope this week is a bit more on-target. I always love videos that celebrate our non-teaching staff members. They don’t get enough love. And this week’s Emailable PD is extremely practical. I always love PD which has plenty of real-world examples.
Enjoy!

Weekly Emailable PD
Use in staff newsletters, emailable PD messages, etc.
Last week, we continued our discussion of consequences in the classroom - a controversial and tricky subject. From the feedback, it sounds like you all agreed that we threaded the needle well and were able to treat the subject with a sensitive and research-backed approach.
This week, the rubber hits the road as we offer some concrete examples of consequences that:
Require something of the student
Are tied to the student’s behavior
Do not humiliate the student
Rectify any fallout of the student’s behavior
We’ve included examples from both the elementary and secondary classrooms. We hope your teachers find them useful!
