Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Twenty Two
Hello friends,
Happiest of New Years to you all! I hope it’s been a safe week and a gentle re-entry from the holidays.
We had higher hopes for a more festive family time. We traveled to Southern Oregon to spend time with some relatives only to get COVID - the whole house! But it’s important to count your blessings. We’ve been exceedingly grateful our 8-month-old twins handled it fairly well and have bounced back completely.
Thankfully, I’m also feeling much better. And it’s a good thing as the downtime is definitely over! I’ll be back in some schools this week and then headed to Texas for a quick trip.
I thought I’d send out a free-for-all email this week. A little gift to everyone for the new year. It contains a heart-warming video and a great emailable PD on ACEs.
And don’t forget, we’ll send out another Monthly PD email tomorrow! Keep an eye on your inbox!
Enjoy!

Weekly Emailable PD
Use in staff newsletters, emailable PD messages, etc.
This is a great “zoom out” moment when discussing how students are impacted by their environments. I always found it helpful to remember that I only see a little snapshot of a student as they enter my building or classroom. Their lives outside the building could be much more complicated than I imagined. This helps to develop empathy. Coupled with the statistics on ACEs from the CDC, we might begin to understand why a student behaves a certain way and how we can help.

Weekly Trivia
Use in staff newsletters, encouraging emails, etc.
Question: When did people begin making New Year’s resolutions?
Answer: The ancient Babylonians would begin their new year (which started in mid-March) by proclaiming their loyalty to their king. This practice began about 4,000 years ago and is considered the earliest form of the modern-day resolutions we make currently.

Weekly Help with AI
Tools that make your job a little easier
Easy-Peasy AI is a user-friendly platform that allows you to do quite a few operations in one simple place. For instance, I’ve used several tools that allow you to chat with PDFs. I’ve also used separate tools to help develop social media posts. Now, I know there are platforms that allow you to do many of these things, but Easy Peasy has a lot of built-in templates to simplify the prompting process. It’s worth a look!
Pros:
User-friendly interface
Simplifies AI development
Abundant learning resources
Accessibility for all skill levels
Cons:
A lot of the advanced bells and whistles will cost you at least $5.99/month.
Disclaimer: This is not an advertisement or endorsement. I’ll never make any money from the “Help with AI” section. Also, do your homework. Just because I’m featuring a tool doesn’t mean I trust it completely. AI is a new frontier. Tread wisely.
