Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Twenty Six
Hey hey!
I don’t know about you, but we’re in that classic Oregon stretch of late starts and snow days, where schedules get thrown off, but we also get those rare moments to slow down, catch up, and maybe even enjoy some extra time with family. Whether you’re in the same situation or things are normal on your end, I hope it’s been a good week.
I’ve got two solid resources for you. First, a great video that reminds us just how much students appreciate teachers. Second, a practical Emailable PD focused on helping students build their confidence when speaking in front of their peers. Since COVID, we’ve seen a decline in this skill, but it’s one they’ll need for life. Let’s keep finding ways to support them.
Stay warm and safe out there!

Lately, I’ve noticed a big shift. Students are more resistant than ever to giving presentations in front of their peers. Since COVID, the anxiety around public speaking has only grown, and many students would rather do just about anything than stand up and talk. But here’s the reality: public speaking isn’t going away. Whether it’s in college, job interviews, or just everyday life, our students will need this skill. Avoiding it now only makes it harder later. Instead, we need to create safe, supportive spaces where they can build confidence, one step at a time. Here are some ways your teachers can help students push past the fear and develop a skill they’ll use for life. I hope it’s helpful!
