Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Twenty Five
Hello dear friends,
We’re already wrapping up the first month of 2024. Seems hard to believe. I hope it was a good one for you.
Busy few days. Did some work in a middle school towards the beginning of the week in one district and a high school towards the end in another. It never ceases to amaze me the wide spectrum of development that we have in our schools. From brand new scholars entering school for the first time to young adults venturing into a rapidly changing world. I love the weeks when I get to see such a variety. It always reminds me how fast it all goes.
Those kinders will be seniors in no time flat. We play such a huge role in setting them up for success during the brief time that we call them “ours.” Makes me grateful for the work that each one of you does. Keep it up.
Great stuff on deck this week. A short, celeb-sprinkled video showing some teacher love. And a great Weekly Emailable PD (if I do say so myself) on some trauma-informed practices and we continue discussing classroom management and relationships.
Enjoy!

Trauma-informed practices are becoming more widespread. Strategies that consider individual needs and empower students are a valuable addition to any teacher’s tool belt. Below, we discuss some brief thoughts on working with students who may experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We also cover how to deal with common student emotions like impulsivity, anger, and shyness and how they can impact teacher-student relationships (TSR).
