Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Thirty Two
What’s up, ya’ll?
Happy Saturday and a happy spring break to those of you who made it! I myself have a week left of work before taking a breather. It’s definitely within reach!
Whatever you have on deck, I hope it’s restorative and life-giving. Spend some time with friends, take your kids on an adventure, or just macro-dose on sleep. You won’t regret it.
I decided to revisit my love affair with Simon Sinek this week. Always thought-provoking, I think he offers a keen insight into the evil of comparison. It never helps. Instead, he humbly offers a counter-strategy. I think anyone in the people business (that’s us!) will find this helpful.
On the note of humility, this week’s Emailable PD provides a strategy that is as rewarding as it is challenging. I hope you and your staff try it!
Enjoy!
P.S. Take a look at the follow-up poll from last week. I probably could’ve asked a more insightful question, but the results are fascinating. I have a follow-up to the follow-up poll below. Please consider taking it!

Follow-up to last week’s follow-up poll
In response to last week’s email
This poll is for those of you who said you’d rather be a teacher than an administrator if the pay were the same. Many of you said you’d prefer one over the other because admin work has become too time-consuming, too political, and too contentious. With that said, I’m curious if people would choose to pursue teaching because they love teaching or because they no longer love being an administrator. It’s a huge distinction, and I covet your thoughts.
Would you rather?

It can be tough to admit that we don’t know something, but doing so can be a superpower. Whether in a difficult classroom situation, being put on the spot by a student, or admitting to your supervisor that you don’t know the path forward, simply saying, “I don’t know” can work wonders. Humility is a strength, reminding our students that we’re all growing.
