Hello good people,

We’ve made it to the final stretch, and I know for a fact that a lucky handful of you are already deep into your well-earned summer break—maybe even reading this from a beach chair. For the rest of us still counting the days, hang in there. You’re doing the hard, beautiful work of bringing the year in for a smooth landing. This week’s video is a high-five to every teacher who’s ever colored outside the lines for the good of kids. It’s a reminder that the magic often happens when we step off the beaten path and try something unexpected.

And speaking of unexpected—this week’s “Emailable PD” is all about infusing lessons with real-world scenarios. It’s a quick, actionable take on how to make any topic more relatable, engaging, and just plain fun. Whether it’s math, science, ELA, or beyond, the more our lessons reflect the world students actually live in, the more they lean in. Give it a read, and pass it along. I hope your teachers find it useful!

And just a heads-up, we’re nearing the end of the newsletter for the year. June 7th will be our last edition until the fall. Of course, we’ll have our annual survey and special summer editions, so stay tuned!

Cheers!

Let’s face it - students tune in when learning feels real. That’s where simple, powerful scenarios come in. This week, we’re discussing quick ways to build real-world “What would you do?” moments into your lessons, without re-writing every lesson plan. It’s the low-hanging fruit of student engagement. When kids see the why behind what they’re learning, they get genuinely excited to know more.
