Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Ten
Hey fam,
I hope this Saturday morning finds you cozied up next to a fireplace. Or carving pumpkins. Or walking in the fallen leaves. Something like that. I love this time of year!
It’s been a busy week. We just wrapped up conferences yesterday, and they went fairly smoothly. I realized this week that I simply don’t talk with parents enough about their students’ long-term goals. Families are such a great source of insight, especially for some students who aren’t prone to sharing their aspirations. This epiphany was the driver for today’s Emailable PD. It’s a topic I’m excited to dig into more. I hope your teachers find it useful.
And I found this fascinating video that just came out a couple of weeks ago. Nearly every school has moved to ban cell phones, and we’re just starting to see the mid-term positive benefits … and students are feeling them as well. I hope this is a piece of encouragement for you and your staff.

This week, we’re focusing on one of the most underused drivers of student growth: partnering with families in goal setting. When we invite families into the process—not just to hear the goals, but to help shape them—we create clarity, consistency, and motivation that carry far beyond the classroom. By co-designing goals, sharing simple tools for support, and keeping communication light but meaningful, we help students see that everyone in their world is on the same team. This kind of authentic collaboration doesn’t just improve achievement—it builds ownership, agency, and long-term success. Let’s lean into partnership this week and make student goals a shared mission.
