Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Nineteen
Hey hey,
Is there anything quite as chaotic as the overlap of end-of-term deadlines, the start of a new trimester, and the looming holiday season? I can picture a student dropping by my classroom on Monday and asking, “Mr. Alpert, what do we actually do the week before break?” I’ll just smile and say, “Survive, my friend. We survive.”
That’s kind of the theme for this time of year, isn’t it? But amidst the whirlwind, it’s also an incredible opportunity to reset, refocus, and make a plan—both for ourselves and for our students. This week’s focus on SMART goals is all about helping students create a roadmap for success, even when life gets a little wild.
And as we get ready for some much-needed rest, I’d like to wish each of you a very happy holiday season. You do so much for your teachers, students, and communities. If anyone deserves a rest, it’s you. Take the time you need!
Happy Holidays!
P.S. As we all take a break for the holidays, the newsletter will as well. We’ll go radio-silent for just a bit. Plan to hear from us once again on January 4th!

Weekly Emailable PD
Use in staff newsletters, emailable PD messages, etc.
This week’s Emailable PD helps teachers guide students in breaking down SMART goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. It’s one thing to set a big goal like “improve my math grade,” but the magic happens when students identify the small, actionable steps to get there. Breaking goals into bite-sized steps keeps students from feeling overwhelmed and empowers them to see their progress along the way.
