Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Five
Hi friends,
I hope this Saturday finds you well and enjoying the moment.
It’s a week that has felt very immediate for some reason. I’ve really been focusing on living more “in the moment.” You know, being present to my students, my kids, my wife, etc. And it’s been a super hectic week to boot, but I have felt myself living more “in real time” than in the past or the future.
I know this has become somewhat clichéd these days, but it’s really quite true. Now is all you have, so soak it up.
We’ve got some solid PD this week on moving beyond the typical engagement best practices. Take that warm-up and turn-and-talk a bit deeper and find out what happens.
Also, I’ll admit that this week’s video is a bit unusual. It’s from across the pond and may not seem immediately relevant to the majority of my North American readers, but I found it strangely inspiring. What do you think?
Reply with your thoughts. I read every one.
Cheers!

This week, we’re focusing on one of the biggest drivers of student success: engagement. The first weeks of school set the tone for how students see learning—and how they see themselves as learners. When we spark curiosity, amplify student voice, and connect lessons to their world, we create a classroom where every student feels seen and invested. Whether it’s generating their own questions, pairing up with purpose, or bringing real-life experiences into the mix, these early moves build lasting buy-in. Let’s start the year by making engagement the expectation.
