Hey friends,

It’s been a hectic week. I’m definitely feeling the first-week-back-with-kids exhaustion. It’s like running a marathon without training. I know the stamina will kick back in next week. Excited for a bit of downtime this weekend.

Hope the week wasn’t too intense for you. And after the thousands of parent questions, schedule changes and staff dilemas, I hope things start to settle for you soon.

This week’s video is all about a teacher who brings his outside passion into his time with kids. Always inspiring for me. I hope your teachers enjoy it.

And I really like this week’s Emailable PD. A page out of Berit Gordon’s The Joyful Teacher. I hope it helps!

Enjoy!

P.S. Man, last week’s video … not popular! I’m always interested to know why. Also, don’t forget to vote!

This week we’re analyzing the classroom environment - how it welcomes, informs and, sometimes, distracts kids. We include a short exercise that your teachers can do on their own in the classrooms to self-assess their classroom atmosphere. This is taken from The Joyful Teacher by Berit Gordon of Columbia’s Teacher’s College. I’ve found it helpful myself and I think your teachers will as well.
