Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Eighteen
Howdy, howdy!
Well, friends, it happened. Texas A&M squared off against the University of Texas last weekend, and—deep sigh—we didn’t come out on top. I’d like to say I took it well, but the truth is my voice is still recovering from shouting at the TV. (Maybe next year!) Losing to your biggest rival is tough, but I’m trying to think of it as a lesson in resilience. I’m also avoiding half my family in Texas (the Longhorn fans) who are waiting to give me endless amounts of grief.
On a much more positive note, my family and I journeyed up to the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. Sledding and hot chocolate were involved—a fun time was had by all. Hopefully, you have some fun moments on deck with your loved this season.
This week’s video is classic in every sense of the word. Seventeen years old (hard to believe YouTube has been around that long!) and still true. Also, we’re continuing our journey into student ownership of learning in this week’s Emailable PD. I hope you find the second installment as useful as the first.
Enjoy!
P.S. Last week’s video was one of our highest-rated videos of the year so far. Thanks to everyone who voted! And vote again!
P.P.S. Keep an eye on your inbox for another installment of our monthly For Your Staff video. See you at 6 AM tomorrow!

This week, we’re diving into a strategy your teachers can use to help students take real ownership of their learning: the SMART goal framework. SMART goals give students a clear, structured way to work toward success. This week’s PD is packed with practical examples and creative ideas—like goal-setting worksheets, journals, and goal walls—to help bring this framework to life in the classroom. I hope your teachers find it useful!
