Weekly Inspo Vids - Week Eight

Hey friends,

I know I say this at the beginning of each month, but I can’t believe it’s October! We just wrapped up homecoming week, and it was hectic, but very life-giving. It’s so wonderful to see kids invested in their own activities with such sincerity. From football leaders to student council members to academic heavyweights, kids are really challenging themselves.

We’ve got a lot of great resources this week. Our video is quite enjoyable and will motivate you and your staff to get to know one another on a deeper level. Even students find it encouraging. I showed it to a class last week, and one of my more jaded juniors admitted, “That video actually made my day.” I hope it hits home for you and yours.

And our PD is all about explicit instruction. It’s so direct that it’s not taken all that seriously, but it has an avalanche of data behind it to back it up. We cover the nuts and bolts and some common pitfalls. And this week, the entire email is free to everyone - just to give you a bit of a free sample.

I hope it’s helpful!

Weekly Quote

“Years ago, I tried to top everybody, but I don’t anymore. I realized it was killing conversation. When you’re always trying for a topper you aren’t really listening.”

Suggested Email Body:

This week, we’re focusing on one of the most powerful tools for accelerating learning: explicit instruction. When we teach with clarity, purpose, and intention, we remove the guesswork that can trip students up and make learning feel out of reach. By modeling our thinking, guiding practice, and checking for understanding, we give students a roadmap for success. These simple, structured moves don’t just boost achievement—they build confidence, independence, and momentum. Let’s lean into clarity this week and make learning unmistakably accessible for every student.
