Greetings, friends!
Thanks so much for your patience while we’ve been working through the salary survey data. We learned a lot through the process about how to ask questions that will yield meaningful data for everyone.
I plan to write an email with my own insights on the information as I’ve been staring at it for weeks. I think there are some obvious conclusions to draw and some not-so-clear observations that might be helpful. Maybe I’ll throw those into a Midweek Musings within the next week or two.
But, for now, I wanted to simply send out the final version of the report.
A few quick notes that I’ve alluded to previously:
While we received information from our friends in Canada, there wasn’t enough data to draw high-level conclusions. I’d be happy to send out the link again. Perhaps with a couple dozen more folks responding, it could be worthwhile to put together a second report.
The same is true of submissions from other countries. Although from the entries I received from educators globally, there are some phenomenal opportunities at international schools. As someone who has served as a teacher and administrator abroad myself, I’m seriously considering a podcast/email series on opportunities in schools around the world.
This report is heavily skewed toward female principals. That’s the bulk of my audience. No problem there. But I’d also love to make it a bit more well-rounded. I’m thinking about sending out the form once again and creating an updated version in a few months with better representation from all APs and male principals. It would make the data more reliable when comparing gender differences in pay.
A quick thank you to my team, who worked tirelessly to track down real estate values for all 148 submissions. I couldn’t have done this without their dedication! Enjoy the Affordability Ratios! I think they’re a great touch!
With those preambles, check out the survey:
