Howdy all,

I hope your summer is cranking right along in the smoothest of fashions. Ours has been fantastic so far - a bit of school work here and there, with lots of camping in the mix. There’s no better place (IMHO) than the Pacific Northwest in the summertime. The coast really is as magical as they say, and the woods are thick and inviting. I hope you’ve stumbled upon some equally awesome adventures.

I wanted to send out a quick summary of the changes coming to the newsletter this year. As I mentioned previously, this year will be more of an evolution than a revolution. The last two years brought big upgrades, platform changes, and all sorts of behind-the-scenes monkeying around.

This year, the focus is on making everything as quick and easy as possible. For example, we’ve heard from lots of paid folks that they often forget about all the subscriber perks. We’ll send out some information to you soon with a refresher on how to access all the content.

We’re also working to improve our archives. As you know, the free weekly video archive is a treasure trove of instantly accessible goodies—complete with subscriber ratings and concise descriptions.

Now, we’re bringing that same simple logic and format to the Weekly Emailable PD archive.

If you subscribed in the last year or two, you might not realize that you have access to not just the current Weekly Emailable PD PDF/JPEG for your staff newsletter, but every issue we’ve ever sent. Until now, all of that has lived in a zipped folder behind the paywall. Not super user-friendly.

So, we fixed it. It’s never been easier to add quality, bite-sized PD to your weekly staff newsletter or Smore.

(If you haven’t checked out Emailable PD, see an example here.)

All paid subscribers now have access to a single Google Sheet with all 80+ weeks of our Emailable PD—complete with a brief summary of each week, a link to each file, and a short staff email you can copy, paste, or tweak as you like.

That’s right! Over 80 pre-written emails at your fingertips.

👉 That means you can knock out a whole year’s worth of Emailable PD (one per week) in about thirty minutes. Boom! (Paid subscribers: scroll down for your link to the file.)

And if you’ve already been using our Emailable PD these past two years, just keep an eye on your inbox each Saturday morning for your fresh, weekly edition. And, of course, we’ll be including a pre-written email intro for you to include with your Emailable PD each week for the 2025-26 school year!

Now, for the magic question I regularly get this time of year:

Is the annual price increasing?

And the answer remains the same as the last few years:

Yes!

But remember, as always, legacy pricing is always in effect. That means you’ll never pay more than you do right now.

Also, remember that weekly videos and quotes will ALWAYS be free!

If you signed up for $60 a month four years ago (lucky you), you’ll never pay more than $60 a year, no matter how much we improve the newsletter.

Likewise, if you sign up now at our current $89/year or $8.50/month, you’ll never pay more. But you only have a few weeks to capture this deal for life, because we’re raising our rates to $109/year or $11/month on August 18th.

Mike, you may ask, why the constant increases?

As you may guess, producing a newsletter like this isn’t free. Web costs continue to rise, even as the tech improves. Producing our Weekly PD is time-consuming. And we’ve also been told by many of our legacy subscribers that they would pay significantly more than our current pricing, especially when receiving a little help from district PD budgets. Plus, as our archive grows, so does the value.

Put simply, nothing is getting cheaper these days. We’re trying to make increases gentle, but they’ll likely continue to happen. All the more reason to subscribe now at one low price, for life.

(Sorry, that last line sounded a bit too info-mercially, even for me).

Now, as promised, here’s a little preview for our paid subscribers of our Emailable PD archive.
